Bilingual branding: English and Arabic from day one

Translating a logo after the fact always shows. Designing for both scripts from the start is the difference between “translated” and “native”.

In the Gulf, a brand is read in two scripts, two directions and two sets of cultural references. Treating Arabic as an afterthought is the quickest way to feel like a visitor in your own market.

What to decide early

  • A wordmark that has a designed Arabic counterpart, not a translation set in a default font.
  • Layouts that mirror cleanly, including icons, arrows and navigation.
  • Typography with real Arabic weights, with line spacing tuned to the script.
  • Copy written in each language, not converted from the other.
Native in both languages is a design decision, not a translation job.

Build the system once with both in mind and every future campaign, film and page inherits the quality.
